Skinningrove
These images were made in Skinningrove in September 2024. I wanted to visit the place where Chris Killip made some of his iconic images in the 1980s. I spent a number of hours walking on the beach and around the village and talking to people. It turned out that the father of the woman in the chip shop was one of the people Chris photographed. It was a misty day with the tide out; a very evocative experience for me.
